7-year-old Keila was diagnosed with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita(AMC); a condition in which multiple joints become permanently fixed in a bent (flexed) or straightened (extended) position, completely or partially restricting the movement of the affected joints. Keila’s mobility was limited to a manual wheelchair, and she needed a mobile stander to provide her with the independence to move around in a standing position. Keila’s new mobile stander will provide her with much more freedom of movement, and it will also greatly benefit her therapeutically. Wheelchairs 4 Kids would like to thank the Perrine-Cutler Ridge Rotary Foundation of Palmetto Bay for donating funds to help pay for Keila’s new Rifton Stander; we are extremely grateful to you all for your beneficence, and for helping us to improve Keila’s mobility!
